Goossens/RPO: Rossini-Respighi Boutique Fantasque - Capitol G 7103, promo
¥60.00
Jacket NM / LP VG / US pressing
This wonderful LP – a beautiful promo copy – from Capitol (G 7103, US pressing, rainbow label / EMI logo at 9 o’clock, mono, original inner sleeve included) features Eugene Goosens and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in a remarkable performance of the Rossini-Respighi “La Boutique Fantasque”, one rich in color and fantasy, with stunning sound to match.
This recording was made at EMI Studio No. 1, Abbey Road, London, on 24 September 1957.
There are superb liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by W.A. Chislett, printed in English only. The lovely cover art is uncredited, alas.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is near-MINT. There is minor bumping at corners and slight shelfwear, but that is all. There are no bends, seampslits, owners' markings, or other defects, and the whole remains solid, bright, and highly attractive – overall, a very fine collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is VERY GOOD. Though there is light surface noise throughout, in general the playback remains excellent. However, those wanting a flawless or near-MINT copy are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as a very good collector's copy.
