Jacket VG+ / LP EX / Russian pressing
This outstanidng LP from Melodiya (C10 20583 004, Soviet pressing, red/black label, stereo) features violinist Andrei Korsakov in a stunning performance of Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major Op. 6, recorded with conductor Vladimir Fedoseyev and the USSR TV and Radio Large Symphony Orchestra in Moscow in 1982 (engineer: M. Kozhukhova).
Incidentally, the striking cover design was executed by A. Tretiakov. There are excellent liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by I. Yampolsky, printed in both Russian and English.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD++. There is slight bumping at corners, minor edgewear, and a bit of creasing, but that is all. There are no seamsplits, bends, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, and highly attractive – overall, this rates as a very good collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. Although the surfaces are not absolutely silent, really this is a fine copy and the playback is quite superb. Those requiring CD silent surfaces are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as an excellent collector's copy.
