A pupil of both Busoni and Schoenberg, Steuermann brings a unique authority, as well as a brilliant and uncompromising clarity, to these intrepid masterpieces of the piano literature – one of the more important documents of 20th Century music.
The striking cover photo of Busoni was supplied by Mr. Nello Busoni, son of the composer, while the album design was executed by Guidi/Tri-Arts. The erudite and eloquent liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket are by Steuermann himself, printed in English only.
This album was produced by Lester Koenig and engineered by Roy DuNann and Howard Holzer.
