This lovely LP from Angel Records features conductor Herbert von Karajan and the Philharmonia in a marvelous pairing of Mozart’s Serenade No. 13 in G Major K. 525 “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” and the Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat Major K. 279B*.

The performance of Mozart’s K. 279B features some of the finest woodwind players of the last century, namely:

            Sidney Sutcliffe, oboe

            Bernard Walton, clarinet

            Cecil James, bassoon

            Dennis Brain, horn

Both works were recorded at EMI Studio No. 1, Abbey Road, London, on 17* / 18 November 1953 (producer: Walter Legge / engineer: Christopher Parker).
