US pressing - plum/silver labels - mono

The box top is broken at two corners and has small tear and wear at the spine. The individual jackets are more or less perfect. The LPs have some hairline marks, small scratches (almost none of which sound) and paper rubs. Overall, I would grade the LPs as EX.

Had Gimpel's Bach appeared in HMV's ASD series or Columbia's SAX series, I'm convinced it would be among the most sought-after sets ever recorded. He doesn't play with the purity of a Heifetz or Milstein, but one senses a great re-creative mind behind the playing, with strong ideas on the music.
